[SLI Hobby Class] The Beauty of Korea: Calligraphy and Minhwa (Folk Painting)
Class Introduction
This class offers students a hands-on experience of traditional Korean art.
Students will learn Korean calligraphy and minhwa (traditional Korean folk painting), gaining an understanding of the aesthetics of Korean traditional art while creating their own unique artworks.
Instructor Introduction: Jeon Hee-jin
Jeon Hee-jin is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Korean Philosophy of East Asian Studies (Art Philosophy) and holds a master’s degree in Calligraphy and East Asian Aesthetics.
Her research focuses on traditional Korean calligraphy and painting, particularly the formative principles and aesthetic meanings found in Korean calligraphy and traditional art.
Class Time
All classes and activities: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
* Only students enrolled in the afternoon Korean language classes at the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus (2:00 PM – 6:00 PM) may apply.
